About Me

My name is Kate Glocke. I'm 32 years old. I'm a mom, a wife, a special education teacher, and a lifestyle coach. I am married to my best friend. We will be celebrating our 5th anniversary this year! We have been blessed with a son who is full of energy and keeps us on our toes every day! He is 3 and is our whole word.

Professionally, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. I also hold a Master's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from DePaul University in Chicago. I have been teaching Special Education for 8 years and I absolutely love it! I started my teaching career in 2010 in the Chicago Public Schools. I met so many wonderful students and lived in one of the best cities! I encourage everyone to visit. If you do, go to a Cub's game and get a burger from DMK Burger Bar for me, okay? I currently teach Special Education in Pennsylvania. I have taught students with cross-categorical disabilities in every grade from K-8, and each has their own unique qualities and challenges that I love.

I have been on my own health and fitness journey for a long time. As a kid I was chubby and struggled with my weight. I remember being called "fat" on the playground and it stuck with me. I was an athlete in high school and during volleyball and tennis season I would slim down. I was at my healthiest my senior year. Then came college...and beer...and pizza...and burritos. You know it's bad when you and your roommates befriend the pizza guy just to get extra ranch. I would try to stay healthy as I could, but I left undergrad 15-20lbs heavier than when I started.

In 2008 I moved away from everyone and everything I knew to go to graduate school in Chicago. It was terrifying. My only friends in the city lived 45 minutes to an hour away on a train or bus. Needless to say, I was in a bit of a funk. This is when I turned to my first at-home fitness program. I dusted it off and would kickbox in my TINY bedroom in my loft apartment. I found myself shedding weight. I didn't even realize it until one of my roommates said something. I kept it up. Pouring myself into exercise and making myself a priority felt good. At the end of 2010 I was the healthiest I had ever been and maintained a pretty healthy lifestyle.

Fast forward to fall 2013...Nate and I were married and happy. Dating in the city brought a lot of dates at yummy restaurants. So really, the only aspect we weren't thrilled about was our health and fitness. We both knew we needed to make an effort to be better. We joined an accountability group on Facebook. I finally stuck with it and showed up because I knew I wanted to hold myself accountable and felt the need to check in. Our results were incredible! I found a new passion for healthy eating, baking, and health and fitness in general. We have been doing at-home fitness programs ever since!

We moved to Pennsylvania from Chicago in 2014 so Nate could attend graduate school, and we found out we were having our sweet Gabe. When Gabe was born, we learned he had a cleft palate. While pregnant, I felt like I knew in my gut that something wasn't going to go right, but that everything would be okay. We poured ourselves into getting Gabe all of the Early Intervention services he qualified for and our healthy lifestyle went on the backburner while we got life organized.

Once things settled down a bit, we were able to pick up our healthy habits again. I immediately felt better, especially when it came to my stress level. As Gabe has grown, we have closely monitored his unique qualities. Our team of specialists recommended genetics testing in the fall of 2017. With this testing, we were hoping for clarity. However, we haven't been given the cut and dry answers we were seeking. We have gone through a lot in Gabe's first three years, and working out and the Beachbody Community has been my saving grace.

Although I have come a long way, I still have things to work on. The struggles we have gone through as a family have made me smarter, stronger, and more patient. I have learned that making health a priority for myself is extremely important. I need to take care of me in order to be a better wife, mom, teacher, and friend.

I look forward to sharing healthy living tips with all of you. I hope to help you feel like the best version of yourself!

Your Biggest Cheerleader,
